How to Make a Banana Pancake Recipe With Different Variations

How many times have you had bananas go bad right after you have purchased them? Sometimes it is hard to use them up and not get sick of the flavor. Over ripe bananas taste terrible so using them in a delicious manner is a little difficult. They can be made into bread or muffins but what if you do not have the time for that. Instead make a banana pancake recipe that will only take a little bit of time and a few other ingredients.

Bananas get over ripe when the skins start to turn brown and spotty. This is when they are absolutely perfect to cook with. Make sure the fruit of the banana does not have brown or black spots and if it does cut them out. If the consistency is a bit mushy it is time to use them to make pancakes.

You will need two bowls to make these pancakes. In the first one measure one cup of white flour, one tablespoon sugar, one fourth teaspoon of salt and two teaspoons of baking powder. You will want to combine all these ingredients and go to the next bowl.

In bowl number two beat one egg well. Measure two tablespoons vegetable oil and one cup of milk and add it to the egg. Remove the peel from two bananas that are over ripe. Put them in a cereal bowl and mash them with a fork until they are mashed down well. Throw the banana in with egg milk combination and whisk this well with a large kitchen whisk. Now start to gradually add the mixture in the first bowl. Whisk each addition in until all mixed. If the batter gets too heavy switch to a large spoon to stir this extremely lumpy batter.

Place a large skillet on a burner and get it hot then add some vegetable oil. Scoop out a fourth of a cup of the pancake batter and put it in the skillet. Wait until the bottom of the pancake gets brown and flip it over for the other side to get done and place it on a dish with some butter spread on it.

You can add a few things to the batter to make them more unusual and one thing is about 1 to 2 tablespoons of smooth peanut butter. Another is one fourth of a cup of mini chocolate chips. Another variation is to add one fourth cup of sliced strawberries.

There are many things you can put on top of your pancakes. You can use syrup or just put on some whipped cream. To make a dessert pancake you can put on chocolate syrup. Honey or caramel sauce that is normally used for ice cream is good. You can make these pancakes for breakfast or lunch and they even come in handy as a special dessert.

1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 tsps Equal Measure or 8 packets Equal Sweetener or 1/3 cup Equal Spoonful
Ground Cinnamon, optional

Blend all ingredients except cinnamon in a blender until smooth. Pour into 4 glasses and sprinkle with the cinnamon, if desired.

Yield: 4 8-oz servings.

Nutritional Information Per serving: 190 calories, 12 g protein, 33 g carbs, 2 g fat, 4 mg cholesterol, 134 mg sodium

Chocolate Covered Bananas

Cut 2 bananas in half and insert an ice cream stick in the end of each. Place on a tray on a sheet of wax paper and leave in the freezer for 1 hour. Pour your topping of choice (crushed peanut pieces, chocolate chips, sprinkles, or coconut work well) onto a plate. Melt one bag of melting chocolates in a double broiler. Peel one or more bananas, then cut into quarters or smaller pieces if desired. Banana-Peanut Butter Miniwiches

Spread crunchy or smooth peanut butter onto two pieces of white or wheat bread. Cut a banana into thin slices and place on the peanut butter side of each bread slice. Stick the two together to make a tasty banana-peanut butter sandwich, then slice into quarters to make more manageable miniwiches.

Cinnamon Banana Toast

Place a griddle on the stove and turn the stove on low heat. Place a slice of white or wheat bread on the griddle. While the griddle is heating, cut a banana into slices, then place on the bread slice. Then sprinkle cinnamon (or cinnamon and sugar) onto the bananas and allow it to heat. Using a spatula or knife, gently press the bananas into the piece of bread. When the bottom of the bread is golden brown, the toast should be warm but not hot. Crunchy Bananas

Fill a sandwich bag halfway full with your or your kids' favorite breakfast cereal. Zip the bag shut and crush the cereal into small pieces. Peel one or more bananas, then cut into thin slices. Going Bananas! Why Not? They Are Good For You

Have you ever wondered where monkeys get their boundless energy and dexterity from? You could be forgiven for thinking they have gone bananas. Well maybe they have done just that.

Banana as we all know is found worldwide. Banana offers more benefits than other fruits. Banana has a storage of carbohydrates and is a rich source of Vitamin B. Whole Wheat Chocolate Banana Bread

I am a bread lover and I always have bread as my breakfast and lunch. Sometime a bread also is a snack for me.

My favorite bread is whole wheat chocolate banana bread. I'm on diet so whole wheat bread always is my choice. Besides that whole wheat bread is a healthy food too. I love the taste of combination of the chocolate and banana. Because of this, whole wheat chocolate banana bread becomes my favorite bread.

It is also easy to make a whole wheat chocolate banana bread too. Here is the recipe:

First let's talk about the ingredients:

1/3 cup skim milk
1 3/4 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
3/4 cup white sugar
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

You may change the ingredients according to your favorite.

Steps to make the Whole Wheat Chocolate Banana Bread:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F/190 degrees C.
Spray a loaf pan with cooking spray.
Whisk together the whole wheat flour, skim mil, cocoa powder, baking power, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Set aside.
Beat eats and sugar together with an electric mixer until smooth.
Mix in the mashed bananas, the milk mixture, canola oil and vanila extract.
Stir the flour mixture until all the ingredients are moistened.
Pour batter into the prepared pan.
Bake it in the preheated oven about 1 hour for a loaf.
Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing to coll completely on a wire rack.
Finally you can test your homemade Whole wheat chocolate banana bread!

Delicious Banana Pancake Recipe

2 cups all-purpose flour
5 tablespoons sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
2 cups milk
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted, plus more for sautéing the banana pieces
2-3 bananas, peeled and diced into small chunks
4 ounces of powdered sugar
1 Sifter for powdered sugar to add to finished pancakes.
 
First you will sift the flour and baking powder to remove any lumps. Second you will heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat and sauté the banana pieces in pan and once golden brown, remove, and cool.  Once the banana pieces cool you will add it to the batter and mix until evenly distributed, so just put these to the side and wait to add them until you are ready for them.  Now you will whisk the sifted flour and baking powder, sugar, and salt in a medium bowl. The next step you will add the eggs, milk, and half of the melted butter and whisk until combined, but still slightly lumpy. Now you will add the cool banana pieces and mix until distributed throughout the batter and fold them into the batter, do not over work the batter. If you overwork the batter the pancakes will not rise properly.
 
Now you are ready to make banana pancakes. You will then ladle about 3 to 4 ounces into the pan and cook until you see bubbles all over the surface of the side up in the pan. You will then flip the banana pancake, and cook until the bottom is a golden brown color. You will remove from the pan and serve immediately, or you can add them to a plate and cover, or to a baking sheet in the oven on its lowest setting until you have all of the batter cooked.

Garnish, You can take an extra banana if you have one or save about half of one banana and slice them into thin slice. You will sauté the banana slices in butter until golden, add to the top of the pancakes and then dust with a small amount of powdered sugar.  Serve.

Banana Spider

The banana spider is certainly exciting to learn about. Lets start by explaining why two different spiders are each referred to as the 'banana spider' and which one is the dangerous one.

The Golden Silk Spider (Nephila clavipes) are often thought of as banana spiders because of their yellow bodies. They weave a very strong web that looks like gold thread in the sunshine. Their webs are about 3 feet wide. You will find these spiders all over the southern part of the United States, especially in Florida. They rarely ever bite people. The male is only 1/2 inch long, the female is around 3 inches long.

The second spider known as the banana spider are a much scarier spider. They are the Brazilian Wandering Spider (phoneutria). There are eight different species of the phoneutria of which two, the phoneutria nigriventer and phoneutria fera are recognised as being extremely dangerous.

The Phoneutria banana spider are found over large parts of South America and some parts of Central America. They gained the name 'banana spider' as they are frequently found on banana leaves.

There have been cases where these spiders unintentionally appeared on banana boats heading for the United States. They are known to hide in dark moist places and in banana boxes.

My mother recalls as a young child her mother removing one from a banana box that arrived at their store all the way down here in New Zealand. To this day she recalls the large size of the spider and how hairy it was.

In the Guinness Book of World Records they are listed as the planets most venomous animal. The Brazilian Wandering Spider is extremely fast, extremely venomous and extremely aggressive.

They have an aggressive defence posture, in which they raise their front legs straight up into the air and sway horizontally from side to side. The wandering spiders are called this because they wander the jungle floor at night rather than having a web or lair.

The Phoneutria is a 'true spider'. All true spiders have a certain amount of venom. The Phoneutria has very strong venom. Their venom is toxic to the human nervous system, causing symptoms such as irregular heartbeat, salivation and prolonged, painful erections (priapism) in men. Scientists are investigating the phoneutria nigriventer venom as a possible treatment for erectile dysfunction.

The Phoneutria nigriventer is the species of banana spider most responsible for cases of venom intoxication in Brazil. It is commonly found in highly populated areas of south-eastern Brazil. They are encountered in peoples homes hiding in poeples' shoes, hats and other clothes.

The Banana Diet and Weight Loss - Is it the Best Option?

So maybe you've heard of the diet involving eating bananas and nothing but bananas. A big push is the banana diet and weight loss. Many people seem to believe there is simply no better way to lose weight. While you will may lose weight while performing the banana diet, there are some pros and cons I'd like to point out as well as mentioning another option for weight loss that is far more effective and can be used in addition to the banana diet if you choose to (but not at the same time) as I'll explain.

How does it work?

Basically what you do is this, with only a glass of warm water you can eat as many bananas as you want for breakfast every day. While your breakfast and dinner can be whatever you choose.

So if I haven't made it clear, this diet may help you to lose weight, although the reasoning behind this is somewhat sketchy at best. Simply because there is no inherent benefit to eating a boat load of bananas over say a lot of apples or any other fruit for breakfast. Yes bananas are high in potassium, but so are other foods and more importantly the fiber content in bananas is rivaled and exceeded by many other fruits. What it would seem to be that is causing the weight loss is simply the fact that it encourages a more balanced intake of fiber over the typical whole grain approach which doesn't always digest so well for many people, (see gluten intolerance). With a diet high in raw fresh fruit in the morning you are encouraging a better stimulation of natural energy which in turn can help burn fat. If that's the case though why not just try a raw food diet? As overweight raw foodists simply don't exist.

So what are the negatives then to this diet?

Well basically this diet is not realistic for many people, as after a week of eating the same breakfast every day most will give up. Beyond this the diet has no restrictions on lunch and dinner which are the key meals of the day. Dinner in particular should only be lean meat and starch free vegetables, as your metabolism is at its lowest point during this time. On top of all this, there is no solid evidence that swapping in any other fiber rich fruit for breakfast can't do the same thing, so basically the banana diet can be as easy as saying eat fiber rich fruits for breakfast every day with warm water. As well its been shown that the body will more readily create antigens to foods consumed every day. So basically if you don't want to develop a sensitivity to bananas I wouldn't suggest eating them every day in this manner.

So is the Banana Diet the Best Option?

In my opinion no. There are much better alternatives such as, the tier system of a big breakfast (With or without bananas) Mid size lunch and a small dinner. Breakfast can contain carbs, lunch can contain some carbs with a balance of vegetables and lean meat. Dinner should only be lean meat and ideally just low starch vegetables. The one thing the banana diet does right is the fact that any fruit should only be eaten in the earlier part of the day, on an empty stomach and never with other foods. So breakfast with warm water is ideal.

Store this mask in a glass jar or plastic container and refrigerate.

This mask is especially good for dry skin. All ingredients act as moisturizers.
