Scottsdale Downtown Offers Abundant Choices

Downtown Scottsdale is diverse and has plenty to offer. Let's start with Old Town. A taste of the old west this part of downtown represents the history of our community and demonstrates our western heritage by paying tribute to all things from the beginning of our western history. You will find designer western wear, unbelievable jewelry forged from silver with dramatic turquoise embellishment like the well recognized squash blossom necklaces. Old town has historic buildings housing book stores, southwest home décor and great restaurant options like Bandera with saloon style, skillet corn bread and whole chickens slowly roasting on open flames as part of the backdrop.

The Civic Center Mall is a pedestrian friendly district where you can enjoy the Civic Center Library and Scottsdale Center for the performing Arts, which is one of my favorite places to visit. The featured artists at the Center this year includes Steve Martin, John Lithgow, Manhattan Transfer and Doc Severinsen just to name a few. The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Arts offers an array of activities including art shows, concerts, wine tastings and public art installations for your viewing pleasure.

Fashion Square is Scottsdale's Premier shopping experience with over two hundred retail shops including Nordstrom, Barneys, Neiman Marcus, Banana Republic, Bulgari, Tiffany, Lois Vuitton, Coach, and on the list goes... The dining experience options at Fashion Square will delight even the most discerning pallet. A full service Concierge offers information on the City of Scottsdale, as well as taxi and Limo service. Underground and valet parking are available.

Waterfront is easy to describe in one word: Awesome. Take the footbridge from Fashion Square to Downtown Scottsdale's latest addition on the Water. The landmark High-rise Condos signal you have arrived at this festive location including a waterfall, fountains and art installations along the Arizona Canal. Shopping is always an adventure here with offerings from Sur La Table with the latest must have kitchen contraptions to Isaac Jewelers with local one of a kind designed pieces of body art and everything in between including designer hand bag and clothing shops. Inviting walking paths with lush landscape and an opportunity to step into the Fiesta Bowl Museum make the trip to Scottsdale Waterfront all the more enjoyable.

Scottsdale Arts District provides the Art walk every Thursday with over one hundred galleries open for the art lover in all of us. You can meet the artists and get to know more about their work through this weekly event that has been highlighted in downtown Scottsdale for more than Thirty years! You will find an eclectic mix of Western realism, Native American Art and contemporary art from well known artists like Peter Max and Andy Warhol in the two areas of the Arts District, Main Street and Marshall Way. The Main Street Arts District has the distinction of having one of the largest number of galleries on one street in the country.

The Entertainment District when you are ready to hit the dance floor and rub elbows with the in crowd. Night life is the name of the game in this part of Scottsdale with Axis Radius, a well known hot spot with two clubs in one location. You will enjoy hip restaurants and quaint lounges. With the variety of styles and ambiance in Scottsdale's night clubs, you will be sure to find the right special place to hang out and relax.
